Introduction

Dr Lorna Wall is an Honorary Lecturer. Her PhD was in the design of Tactons: Vibrotactile Messages for Information Display, and she has conducted a range of academic research in the fields of multimodal interaction.   She currently works as a Principal User Researcher in the UK Government, and previously worked for many years in the private sector, including Sony, Microsoft, Nokia and Vodafone.  She is passionate about upskilling the next generation of user researchers in research methods, particularly around usability testing and running effective research discoveries to inform the design of services.
