We are BIG
The Bristol Interaction Group is a research group within the School of Computer Science at the University of Bristol (UK). Our interdisciplinary team is dedicated to improving people’s lives through the design and study of advanced technologies.
We research the complex interactions between humans and technology, design cutting-edge interfaces and devices, and critically assess the social and environmental impacts of our innovations. We deploy and evaluate new interaction paradigms in real-world settings, following principles of responsible innovation to ensure our work is socially beneficial and conducted in the public interest.
Our strength lies in our diversity: we are computer scientists, psychologists, social scientists, human factors engineers, material engineers, and artists. This unique blend of expertise allows us to create synergies across a wide range of disciplines, driving forward innovative research in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). As a world-leading center of excellence in HCI, our core research topics include Interactive Materials and Digital Fabrication; Immersive Technologies; Interaction Everywhere; Culture, Music, and Art; Multisensory Interaction, Disability, and Mixed-Ability; Everyday Health and Care; Interactive AI; and Sustainable Technology.
