The ADHD Experience

Alex Yagilowich

Monday 1st June 2026. 13:00-14:00 GMT. Buncar.

In this talk, Alex shares how her experience of ADHD has shaped a practice focused on playful learning, representation, while also creating a space for the exploration of self.

Her designs center on bringing novel interactive spaces to broader audiences by providing tangible and recognizable concepts that can be easily understood or learnt. Her current practice focuses on multimodal human-computer interaction (HCI), whereby she combines skills in computer science, behavioral sciences, spatial design and media studies to create interactive installations that combine learning and fun.

As a Pervasive Media Studio resident and Digital Cultures Research Centre (DCRC) associated artist at UWE, Alex is currently investigating Neurodiverse multi-modal HCI through practice-based research. Her interactive installation, Not Just an Excuse combines learning and fun to explore the inner workings of the ADHD brain, as told by fellow ADHDer's.
