My work is associated with BIG::Health. My research themes and interests include femtech, health, qualitative research & psychology.

Cicely Mathews is a part of the EPSRC funded centre for Digital health and Care who is supervised by Professor Kenton O'Hara and Dr Aisling O' Kane, with the advisory of Dr Jamie Duckers (Cardiff and Value University Health Board). Her PhD focuses on female sexual reproductive health in individuals with cystic fibrosis (CF) and the key opportunities for digital technology within this. Her PhD explores the intersectionality of different reproductive stages (menstruation, pregnancy, menopause) with CF highlighting the complex nuances this intersection brings in both individual experience and healthcare system approaches. This area of particular interest to Cicely as she also has CF and is passionate about patient led research.

Before her PhD Cicely completed a BSc in Psychology and a MSc in Health Psychology.
